Thoben is a location in Styx: Shards Of Darkness.
Thoben sits in a swamp area on human territory. Large areas of shallow water surround the many housing structures built on rocks, cliff and large tree trunks even. While not directly shown, Thoben and Korrangar are connected by a sea route and so it is likely Thoben sits in a river delta.
History
While once a thriving city, the Green Plague has brought a lot of destruction and some areas are so broken down that people have entirely abandoned them.
Considering it's location by the sea, Ambassador Arsidi's monthly visit to stock up on various goods and the existence of the Thoben Guild, it appears to be a trading hub of some sort.
Styx in Thoben
Styx has come here shortly after the Fall of Akenash and made himself a reputation there ever since. His hideout sits in an open cave accessible only by climbing a rope or directing a small hot air balloon safely into it.
